Diversity & Inclusion

Work in a Team of Diverse Experiences, Backgrounds and Talents

Employing a diverse workforce enhances our effectiveness by enabling us to tap into a wide array of unique experiences, skills and knowledge.

Diversity is a fundamental part of our business. We are proud to have programs in place to help people of different backgrounds realize their full potential. We focus on creating an inclusive workplace that celebrates diversity by allowing every employee to be his or her authentic self.

As an employee of CIBC Capital Markets, you will be part of an environment where you feel like you belong and where people are treated fairly in the workplace regardless of personal characteristics — such as age, gender, physical abilities, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation and family/marital status.

CIBC was selected one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers for 2014. This is the fourth consecutive year the bank has received this award, which recognizes employers who have exceptional workplace diversity and inclusiveness programs for women, members of visible minorities, persons with disabilities, Aboriginal peoples, and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender/transsexual (LGBT) individuals.

CIBC's eight Employee Affinity Networks provide support to their members to help promote diversity and inclusion within the workforce. These networks also build professional connections, share common interests and inspire professional development. Our eight networks include:
