Bank of Canada Daily Noon Rate

Effective May 1, 2017, the Bank of Canada (“BOC”) will no longer publish the BOC daily Noon Rate. As a result, CIBC will replace the BOC daily Noon Rate with the Thomson Reuters Intraday Spot Rate as of Noon Eastern Time (the “WMR Noon Rate”), expressed as the number of Canadian Dollars for one United States Dollar and published at approximately 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time on the Thomson Reuters public website:

  • The WMR Noon Rate will be determined at the same time of the day and is a publically available rate accessible without licensing. Canadian bank holidays will be accounted for in the Noon Eastern Time rate post.

  • The benchmark fixings will be available for public display via the Thomson Reuters website provided above at approximately 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time. We are able to execute in any currency pairs published by Thomson Reuters on their public WMR website.

  • Please be advised that CIBC reserves the right to charge for any orders executed at WMR fixing rates.
